We visited the Holiday Inn in Ascutney, Vermont as a family and had a wonderful time. We used the indoor pool a lot as it was too cold to use the outdoor one. It was an Olympic sized pool so plenty of room to swim and play.
We went in October so the scenery was gorgeous! Beautiful trees and hills all around the site!
They had a nice playground which the kids loved. They also had a movie showing every night in their theatre but with little ones we decided to borrow one of the movies they have which was perfect! The kids were really excited to pick out their own movie and they had complimentary microwave popcorn to go with it.
Our hotel villa was laid out well. Plenty of space and it even had a cute electric fireplace we could turn on while cozied up on the couch for our family “movie night.”
The kitchen was perfect- we didn’t want to eat out so we did all our meals right there. They had all the appliances and utensils we needed!
My only complaint was that upon arrival we were not offered any upgrades or welcome gift for being a platinum IHG customer. Also, when we asked for a late checkout we were told the latest we could stay was 11am which wasn’t a huge deal but we were hoping to be able to let our small kids nap in our room.
Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend it for other families.
The area is beautiful, very rural. We were surprised that there was no cell phone service unless you are an AT&T customer. If we had been staying longer than 2 nights, we would have gone through the hassle of calling Verizon to turn on Wi-fi calling.
We were disappointed that there was no hot tub. The locker room and pool area were not very clean and were in serious need of updating. It was not the “resort” experience we were expecting.
The room was fine. It was clean and there was plenty of space.
