Hotel Anua was great!

by dennisfU3966WR

The new location for the Hotel Anua is Avenida de la Independencia 401 and it is a great location! Just a few blocks from the center of the city, it is close to everything but not surrounded by late night venues that will keep you up at night. We watched the Day of the Dead Parade from the roof and it was a spectacular view! The staff is very friendly and the hotel is clean. We had water leaking from the shower stall but they came to fix it right away and gave us plenty of towels whenever we needed them. Our room was just to the right side of the interior parking. We had a small entry to our door and then some stairs to our own hidden private loft. It was perfect and the price was reasonable at about $45/night. There are safety deposit boxes for guests in the reception area and we used them without any problems. We will stay here again.

This hotel has seen better days

Ok, let me start with the pro's.
Located just a block from the Zocalo. Our room was clean.

Cons:
We had cold water showersthe first two days, The hotel seems to be running on a shoestring budget, and with only a few employees. The water situation eventually got fixed, but hot water was still sporadic.
Not all rooms have windows, so it could feel claustrophobic.
My friend's room had dirty sheets, hair, stains, and all. It was to late in the night for her to complain when she noticed, so the poor girl, slept in her sweats on top of the bed.
Parking is inside the courtyard of hotel, so when walking from your room or to lobby, you got nice whiffs of exhaust.
Beds were very hard.
