Bait and switch! Be AWARE! They only own 1 building g now!

by Darlene1978

Be VERY aware! When you book the “Grand Palm Oasis”, you get the “Palm Oasis”. In September, this resort SOLD their second building to the “Sens Hotel”. But they still book both hotels! They try to tell you that you’re getting the same amenities and put you in the old hotel. So you’re paying for a VIP experience but literally getting the same service. Do not believe that they have 10 restaurants and 7 bars! They used to have 10 restaurants and 7 bars when they owned two buildings! Now, they have four restaurants and three bars, and not all restaurants are open during the same time or on the same days. There is only one place to eat for breakfast...See the picture below for the line. Waiting time is over 45 minutes to get seated.
We were the only Americans. Everyone there seem to be locals, and completely OK with the fact that the hotel is absolutely rundown and the service was subpar.
Bottom line- you do not get what you pay for! If you want to stay at this hotel, pay for the palm oasis and save money because there is no such thing as the grand palm oasis anymore...it’s just a bait and switch.

Wonderful stay

My family visited for 7 nights end of October. The resort itself was pretty nice, but the hospitality from the entire staff was top notch. Every single person we encountered were extremely friendly and made us feel very welcomed. We checked in on a Wednesday and it was relatively slow which was great, from check in to check out every one was very accommodating. We traveled with three children 9,8, and 4. They loved the pools! Also I highly recommend your children visit the kids club. The beach is nice with many beds and shade, the hammocks are also nice. We tried every restaurant except for the Tacos and Tortas one. Every meal we had the food was very tasty. My husband enjoyed that theyre were many options of places for getting drinks. The staff at the buffet Dos Lunas were great also, Edgar May and Francisco Diaz treated us amazingly. The concierge was also very helpful in any questions we had. Also I cant speak enough good things about our housekeeper, Maria. She was our housekeeper every day except for one day, she went above and beyond in making our room look great and always made sure we had enough towels. We were in the 8th floor with ocean view and the view is beautiful. Our room's a/c worked great. I recommend this resort for families with children. We did go in the off season, which was wonderful!! The resort was never too busy in the restaurants, pool, or beach! It felt incredible. Also please visit Careyes when you go! Food is incredible!! We had an awesome time, the entertainment is also good, I specially enjoyed the mariachi. Overall we had an awesome stay! I hope we get to go back next year.
