TripAdvisor Rating

Located just outside of the downtown area and offering easy access to public transportation and activities, the Hotel El Andariego is a good option for families due to the number of family-sized rooms available at the hotel. Standard Double Rooms provide enough space to comfortably accommodate families of four, while Standard Triple Rooms can sleep up to six. The hotel’s Junior Suite provides sleeping space for five people. Wi-Fi is provided as a complimentary amenity. Nuestra Senora de la Soledad Basilica, the Rufino Tamayo Museum, the Alvaro Carrillo Theater and more are easily walked to from the location.

Cheap but lacked some simple features

by Happyfish30

This hotel is very cheap, with relatively short walking distance to the centre of Oaxaca which is why we booked it. The staff were all very friendly from start to finish, which we really appreciated. Additionally, the room was thoroughly cleaned and all well-made every night.

My problems:
Wi-fi did not work in the room, we had to stand in the corridor to use it. This is despite the promising that Wi-fi is available in all areas of the hotel.

Parking was only accessible in a private garage, it was a short walk and a member of staff had to come to unlock it and possibly rearrange the cars of other guests. Although parking is included, a ten minute trip would make us feel guilty for making the staff move and made life more difficult.

On one of the mornings there was no hot water, although the hotel was cheap a warm shower is a basic requirement in my opinion.

If you are looking for a cheap place to spend the night in Oaxaca then this place is great, but the listings for this hotel need updating. Maybe we were unlucky with the hot water.

Great hotel, warm and family-like friendly. Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast is nice, handmade mexican food. Close enough to center of the city, has a market nearby. Nice place to chill out and spend few days.
