Located in a converted mansion, the 40-room Hotel Grano de Oro is just big enough to feature a good restaurant, but small enough to have a friendly attitude. All rooms are comfortably furnished, and some have private patios. The two-room family suite accommodates five people.

An excellent and comfortable hotel close to the centre of San Jose. The hotel is well set out and also has a jacuzzi.
There is a very good restaurant and friendly staff and i found i returned to the restaurant for all my meals.
I cannot fault this hotel. From the welcome on arrival, to the well kept rooms, the ever so helpful luggage person, the hot tubs on the terrace, the greenery in the communal spaces and the great food and service in the restaurant. We went for a standard room as we had a lot of day trips booked and thought we wouldn’t be in the room that much. We were allocated Room 12 and although the bathroom is a little small there is enough space to be comfortable in. The soft drinks and snacks in the mini bar are complimentary. The air conditioning was quiet. It was raining one day and we were offered sturdy umbrellas to take out for the day. All in all excellent. There is no view from the window in room 12 so decide what is important and ask the hotel as every room is different apparently.
