Place was a dump!!

Where do I start.. Roaches everywhere, old dilapitated linens and beds. Broken tiolet for 2 days. No toiletries. Holes in towels. Found worms inside restroom. By far the worst hotel experience ever! I'd rather sleep in a car then to ever visit a place this run down. NOT RECOMMENDED!!

Excellent Price, Friendly, Safe, Clean

We won a room here from a charity auction. We paid over list price...which was still CHEAP for a room in Mazatlan, on the beach, with a kitchenette that sleeps 4! We were nervous after reading reviews, but now that we are home all I can say is...it was delightful. The beach was not rocky (time of year?), quiet, and beautiful. Contrary to establishment's claims, there is NO restaurant or bar here. Place is in need of multiple cosmetic upgrades, but it was clean and comfortable and CHEAP. Only one person on staff that we met spoke english....but hey, you are in Mexico where Spanish is the primary language. We had fun with a young security guard (one is always on staff) trying to get a pizza delivered. Very nice young man. There is a small grocery a block north you can walk to, so we ate breakfast in room daily (saves $$). We had to watch the tide (rocky area to north of hotel), but when it was low/mid tide, we could walk a few miles up to the end of Cerrito Beach. We enjoyed excellent food on beach up a ways at Lupitas. Another bar up even further (attached to a hotel) has swings for barstools. 5 minute cab/Uber ride to Golden Zone. If you don't need all the fancy comforts of an Americanized hotel, this is a great little spot.
