Late October stay

by bristol0000

We loved our stay here. Booked based on a family recommendation and we used it as a base to explore the different towns - Bellagio, Menaggio, Lenno, Varenna etc. We originally booked to stay for 4 nights but the weather changed and we decided we wanted to visit Milan so the hotel manager kindly let us alter our reservation to stay for one less night. This was really above and beyond service as they were banking on reletting the room- and we had booked a while ago. The lady behind reception was so friendly and accommodating and I would 100% recommend this place; waking up to that view of the lake every morning is amazing. We came in late October so a lot of places were shut but it didn’t matter to us! The islands are beautiful and we loved wine tasting in Belaggio!

Our group of 11 travelers LOVED La Darsena!!!!!!

Ah...waking up to a gorgeous lake-side view of Lake Como, enjoying breakfast on the lake terrace, and one or two delicious dinners in the restaurant at La Darsena - and you have the makings of a perfect vacation!

We were there for 4 nights in early July with Nada's Italy tour. Our single traveler had the loft room which she was very happy with, and the rest of us enjoyed lake-side rooms with spectacular views in both directions. The hotel and restaurant staff were always friendly and helpful and greeted us warmly.

The hotel is in a good location for catching the ferry or a private boat and for walking along the lake into town.

We dined at the restaurant twice and it was wonderful. I posted on Facebook where I was staying and an old friend in the USA mentioned the restaurant immediately -- recommending we eat there as she had visited it a couple of years earlier while on business to Lake Como. It deserves its good reputation.

I can forgo not having coffee in my room in the morning -- gladly trading it for the view of a lifetime of Lake Como!
