HISTORICAL HOTEL

by positano1965

This is an older hotel with older furnishings but the location to the center of town couldn't be more perfect. The personnel are outstanding and ready to help you on every level. There is a busy good restaurant next door (not affiliated with the hotel), Parking is down a narrow driveway on the side of the hotel. No breakfast. AC is discontinued in October.

Friendly staff and clean room

I took my 14 year old daughter for a quick trip to Prescott and thought it would be fun to stay at this hotel. I had read briefly about room 16 being haunted but didn’t think too much about it. Once we checked in we decided to google information about room 16. It did not disappoint! My daughter was pretty freaked out but it was all in good fun. Nothing crazy happened but the heat was broken in the whole hotel (no big deal at all) yet the room got so hot in the middle of the night then quickly the temperature dropped into the 60’s in our room. It was odd and we just blamed the ghost. We left food out for the ghosts (since they died of starvation in the room). There’s a journal in room 16 where many guests comment on their ghost experiences and feeling the cat sleeping on their feet.

The fire alarm when off in the morning and we loved that the staff just blamed the ghosts. All in all, it’s a lovely old hotel in a great location. You can park your car and walk everywhere. We received great restaurant recommendations from the staff. I loved the upstairs veranda that I enjoyed the free glass of wine (from 5-6 everyday you get free wine, yay!) while my daughter and I read our books. The bed was very comfortable! We would definitely stay here again but my daughter would not sleep in room 16:)
