Wedding night and bridesmaids dress up room

by amritaville

I live in UES but we actually got this room for all the bridesmaids to get ready in order to keep separate from the boys who were getting ready at my apartment. I asked for a corner room suite (the Premium Carnegie Suite I think?). It was perfect, the corner room meant it got plenty of light, the views were lovely, and the everything was clean and beautiful. The bathroom was huge and there were so many mirrors all over! The layout was: the main door opened into a seating area which had a couch, TV, makeup mirror, and lead into the bathroom. Then opposite from the bathroom was the entrance to the bedroom. The bedroom was huge with a very large floor to ceiling leaning mirror and a king sized bed. While we were getting ready, one of the bridesmaids's dressed broke so we kept calling down for various supplies to fix the dress. We also called down for a bottle opener and had a case of wine delivered from a local store. Everything was handled perfectly by the hotel staff. They were also able to print something for us when we needed it last minute. Overall amazing hotel, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for lovely views and that classic NYC UES feel. Thanks Hotel Wales!

A fine place to stay

by notesfork

As this was my first hotel stay in NYC, it is hard to compare it to others but was a perfectly fine place for a 4 night stay. The rooms are small but the bed was comfortable and the room met all of my needs. My first night I was placed in a room with two single beds but was able to switch the following day into a room with a large bed and they moved my luggage for me which was nice. My room was an interior room and the window air conditioner unit needed to run to keep the air moving in the room. There aren't tons of places to eat nearby and it is about a 0.5 mile walk to the subway.
