We travel ALOT and find it important to give praise when it is due. Aside from the obvious location to the beautiful Country Club/Plaza area, the hotel itself is stunning. This must be why, they have a sign posted not to take pictures of celebrities, who seem to know this is the place to be! I wanted to give special thanks to Oliva at the check in who's smile and way with travelers helped us forget about a recent less than great hotel experience elsewhere. Also to Don on the 11th floor. It's almost worth a stay at this hotel just to "experience" Don's magnetic personality. We are doing a BBQ tour with this being #23 of 30 cities to visit. If you are into BBQ, this hotel also happens to be a short walk to Jack Stacks BBQ.
This was our second visit to Kansas City but our first stay at the Intercontinental Hotel. We were not disappointed with our choice. The hotel is wonderful and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. When we checked in we were upgraded to the Club room which was great. The staff in the Club room were so friendly and helpful. This is a great choice if you are intending on visiting this lovely city.
