I went here in May with a group of 6 people. We got a 2 bed apartment in this resort. The house was beautiful and the amenities were great. The resort is just really stunning and the surrounding areas too. The village is quaint and cozy. I cannot wait to come here again and just enjoy this resort and relax here.
That is the sign you read as you drive up the mountain to the lodge...and I wholeheartedly agree! it was everything the photos capture (for a change) and left us contemplating staying just one more day. Our family of 5 enjoyed 5 wonderful nights at the Northstar Lodge in a 2 bed/ 2 bath unit in Horseshoe bldg (I think that's what it was called- it was the newest bldg and our room was facing the Village). The unit was absolutely amazing and the view looking out over the Village and the breathtaking mountainous range was majestic.
I am a real person, a mom of three, from the Bay Area and have very high standards when it comes to places I stay. I use Trip Advisor - always- but often don't (like never) take the time to come back on to write- but i had to write about this place.
The stay started off a bit rocky before we even arrived- I called to confirm a few things a few days before our arrival and apparently Ken was very busy with people in the lobby and didn't understand my question. Instead of taking a sec to figure out what I was asking, he proceeded to "thank you have a nice day" and then hang up in my face. I called right back and he said sorry (lol) and then said he was busy and asked me what he could do for me (totally condescending and rude). I said forget it and called back the next day and spoke with a delightful woman and then later got a call back from Mackenzie solving my reservation concern.
Anyway, the point to this review is the unit- amazingly wonderful. The kitchen was well equipped, the beds super comfy. It was clean and nearly perfect (although they need to dust the ceiling fans and other vents (but then again so do I =)...). Bathrooms were great (i would've put a handheld in the shower though -who doesn't have a handheld showerhead these days??). The washer and dryer in the unit was so convenient. We didn't have maid service at all, but we could've called and requested it- just didn't need it. The kitchen had everything including a coffee grinder, blender, and mini-food processor. We did need a cookie sheet and lovely Maria in housekeeping found one for us and had it promptly delivered. My 11 y/o had fun and spent hours at the Activity Center. The pool was nice and warm. We did not get pestered about attending the timeshare presentation (although it was offered). I loved that we were away from the bustling crowd at the Lake- really our own little resort community. We cannot wait to come back and plan to stay for longer (although not sure how much longer as it was quite pricey at avg $440nt from Jul 31-Aug 2, but thankfully feel like it was worth the rate). I am so happy to have discovered this place- really amazing!
