Me and my family (2 adults, 1.5 year and & 2.9 year old) stayed in the hotel 1 week from the 17/Aug/2019 - 24/Aug/2019. Food is great. We visit the Snackeria couple of times every day, vast variety of food and drinks and very tasty. The Rock and roll diner is great. Costas the manager was very kind and friendly.(All the staff in the hotel was very nice, friendly and professional). After couple of tries we were able to book a place (with the manager help) for the Seven Orchid Asian restaurant. The food was fresh and served nicely and the entire experience was wonderful. Needless to say that the food in the main restaurant was diverse. (One thing that was a bit missing was soft cheese.)
The room and the entire hotel is highly maintained, very clean and well kept. We enjoyed house keeping service twice a day.
One thing that disturbed us (and this is why I rated it 4/5) is the crèche. The crèche is a lovely space, very spacious very clean with high end educational toys and qualified staff. However, kids are not allowed to play there with parents attendance. My kids played for about half hour (without us) and they started crying and we rushed to take them and they didn't want to go there again. Also from the site it is not clear that the parents need to leave. Only when looking a bit deeper it is noted. (The page has a link to a pdf file which detailed all the terms)
It is pity since it is a great place (the only place in the hotel) that on which a young kids can play. Also in the three times we visited there it seems that the attendance there is quite low. (Almost empty). The request to leave the kids with a staff that don't know them is quite problematic. I hope that you will reconsider this and you will allow parents to stay if the kid want them to stay. If not changing the policy entirely at least set some sessions for kids to be able to play when parents attend.
Another thing is that during our stay there was a false fire alarm three times: 2:00 AM, 3:00 AM & 6:AM which woke us up.
Overall we will definitely consider returning to this hotel.
20 of us have just returned from a 2 week stay Olympic Lagoon. 17 of us previously stayed in summer 2017. We had an amazing holiday and intend to return again in 2021. We had amazing time, however there were 2 areas that I feel need to be addressed:
Evening entertainment; Between certificate presentation at 9pm and the main show there is approximately a 45 minute wait, which sometimes seemed longer as the room gets quite warm. Previously, this time was filled with quizzes or some other type of audience participation activity. After the show at 10.45pm (at the latest) the music would stop and the lights would come on causing a mass exodus of guests. With all inclusive finishing at 11.30pm, we felt this was a bit premature and would often end up going to bed (although you can still sit on the terrace by the pool and continue to enjoy the all inclusive). I understand these changes are due to a change in ownership since our previous stay?? Which to be fair wasn’t apparent in any other area.
There isn’t much for older children (10/11 plus) to do in the evening and they didn’t always want to sit and watch the show. They often ended up playing hide and seek, which they would be told to stop by security. There is football pitches but often the lights weren’t on and they were kicked off at 10pm. There is teenz clubs but tbh they play enough video games at home!
If you plan to nap or put your child down for a nap during the day, beware that if you hang the do not disturb sign on the door, they will not come in or knock but they will telephone your room to ask you when they can come in to clean!
Everything else was great.
Rooms are large and comfortable enough for a family, with ample storage, compared to some hotels. Our view was of a wall but that didn’t bother us at all, as we only used the balcony to dry off swimwear.
The all inclusive food was spot on, there is so much choice between all the restaurants, it would a be challenge to NOT find something you enjoyed. Cocktails (especially the gin fizz - yum!) were delightful, as were the ice cream milkshakes!
We enjoyed many of the poolside activities every day, which we thoroughly enjoyed - aerobics, volleyball, waterpolo/basketball and killer darts. The day time events team - Ioanna, Tom, Jamie, Jarrod Rory, Jacob, Georgi, Ella and Kelly were amazing, great fun and a highlight to our stay! Thanks guys!
The evening entertainment which I’ve previously mentioned was still a winner due to the amazing shows each night put on by the all stars, each night was something different, The greatest showman being the absolute best. Hats off to Jamie, Jarrod, Rory, Jacob, Becks, Kelly, Ella, Louis on the sound and our group fave Georgi. In short the entire entertainment team played a huge part of our holiday enjoyment, we miss you guys already and hope you will still be there when we come back! Before I go a few special mentions: Mikaela on the management team, super friendly and lovely to see interacting every day, Ella Bella for always stopping by to chat and making us laugh, Costas and Daniel from the me and you bar, great bartender and wonderfully sweet waiter (could listen to his voice all day long!) and Irina on the pool bar, a pleasure to see for 10am cocktails and of course water and soft drinks, and Agnes in the entertainment room, always a pleasure to chat with you at the end of the night.
All in all we had another great holiday here and can’t wait to go back again. Thank you all x
