Great find

by dannyscotland

Stayed at Park City for 3 nights last week and can only say good things about it and it's staff, we arrived at 1pm and were allowed to check in and the receptionist was kind enough to show us to our room, although it was small, it is London, it was probably the best sleep I've ever had in a hotel room as it was so quiet. All the receptionists and other members of staff were friendly and professional. Will be our go to hotel the next time we visit London.

Mistakes made by the management who tried to pass the blame for my mum

by Diana d

My mum had booked two rooms for me and my son for two nights to celebrate my 40th birthday.
My idea to stay in this location as I know my mum prefers the grange hotel chain and park plaza at Westminster.
My mum does a lot for me and so she also booked the VIP lion king package on my birthday night.
She covered the cost for the Satchi museum even though my parents have done all the Egyptian trips and seen more than most.this is what my mum does!

When we arrived I was made up with my room as was my son and we went straight out to visit the two museums. My mum mentioned her room was cold and so I did try and sort the stat out and so after we arrived back ro the hotel after our lovely meal out my mum went back tii her room at 10pn after taking her meds for MS.
I asked her if she was ok and she was going to sleep. I woke up fine on my birthday as did my son. I saw my mum who brought a few presents with her to open and she looked shocking and was very cold and she had been woken up several times being cold even though she has knock out tabs that make her disoriented and wobbly.
Neither of us could use the phones to ring reception and my mum rang using the direct reservation number from her mobile and was advised that an engineer would be there imminently,
I got ready and checked with my mum and no one came even after 40 mins & my mum struggled down stairs to sort the situation out as she didn’t want to spoil my birthday.
The receptionist wasn’t much help and the manager was not in but my mum requested the name of the manager.
The engineer had to change a fuse in the heating and spent some time getting the towel heater working, he could see lthat my mum wasn’t well and cold and stiff as she woke several times feeling cold and no blankets.
We went out and the engineer was having to return so we left him to it. My mum sent an email to Agnes and on our return from the Tutankhamun exhibition at 4.30 there was still an oil heater in the room. My mum had to buy a sweater as she could not get warm all day and I was worried about her. When we arrived back to the hotel to prepare for the VIP to see the lion king I saw a bottle of wine as an apology to my mum for the problems of the first night. In view that my mum was having to take her extra meds due to the pain she was in as a direct result of being cold all night on the 5th November this was very poor. I heard my mum call the general manager and she was treated with no respect and Agnes only offered to change rooms at 16.20 as we were due to go out at 17.00pm. When my mum is under any duress she tries her best to avoid as it makes her worse due to her poor coping defence system. The general manager was rude, abrupt and tried to blame my mum for not going down stairs in the middle of the night to report the problem and because my mum didn’t want to change rooms in 25 minutes the blame was all my mums! Exceptionally bad service and attitude and I might not be as well travelled as my parents but this woman the general manager was throwing her weight about and didn’t have any consideration or care towards the problems my mum put up with. Totally unacceptable and I feel guilty for having a warm room at the same cost as my mums who had a horrendous experience.
