Quintessential New England Victorian Hotel

by bp0799

I stayed at the Pequot in late September, it was a good time of year to go. I had spoken with the front desk when I called to make a reservation and I was given great advice on when to visit the island (it’s quieter in late September), how to get there and things to do once I was there. I was also advised to check out the Pequot website and look at photos of the property and rooms. The front desk manager described the hotel as being on a quiet street near the beach, the Main Street and the ferry terminal. That the hotel was a ‘quintessential New England Victorian design hotel’, with a big front porch, gardens and quaint, but comfy rooms. It was exactly as described. The rooms are a bit smaller due to the age of the property, however, they are comfortable, clean and well maintained. The hotel offers a large, varied continental breakfast and I enjoyed their “Friday night porch party”. Wine was served, along with a nice display of cheeses and crackers. It was a nice opportunity to meet other guests, many who were visiting from different countries. I would highly recommend this little jewel in Oak Bluffs and I will be returning!
