Ok for a base for nearby attractions

by jcooperh88

We stayed here for 6 nights after a tour around the Californian coast. It is in a good location with restaurants and shopping areas nearby as well as being close to the freeway. The room was very worn down. The carpets needed changing as were stained and the bathroom looked very old. I would say however that it was clean (other than carpet stains which didnt bother me as i just kept my shoes on or flip flops.) The bed was incredibly comfy and the bedding and towels were very clean. There was a sofa in the room as well as a mini fridge. Laundry facilities available. The pool looked nice. Always people in it. Breakfast included waffles, some hot food, juice, toast and yoghurt. We did find that most mornings the breakfast was busy and we couldn't necessarily get a big breakfast. But we just went over for some fruit and yogurt. There is a starbucks next door and an amazing bakery across the way. It was a great base and the days we were here we went to see the football, disney, huntington beach and then also had to hit the LA traffic to go to Universal and the Warner bros studio tour. It was a great base!

What a dump

Stayed here as it was part of a package deal for Disneyland trip. This place is right next to the freeway so you get traffic noise 24/7. The mattress on the bed was so old you sink into the middle of it so no sleep for 3 nights. The rooms are like they are back in the 1960's, very old and run down. The security or lack of it is concerning as the rooms all face out onto a common walkway both ground floor and upstairs with a flimsy door that rattles. The window on the front of the room rattles all night with the vibrations from the freeway traffic and actually doesn't lock. No in room safes so we had to lock our valuables in the car while we were out of a day time at Disneyland. While we were waiting for a bus to pick us up on our way to universal studios, just outside to reception office, a bunch of drug dealers drove up and sold drugs right in front of us without even blinking. This place is dodgey and not in the best area of Annaheim although it is close to the Disneyland entrance. Next time I take a package deal I think I will be asking for a hotel upgrade as they always sell you accommodation in dumps to keep the price down. If you pay anymore than a penny to stay here you are being ripped off.
