I’m a little late on this review, but this was my fourth time vacationing at Solaris with my family. As always, it was amazing! The only thing better than the food, drinks, restaurants, pool etc. is the amazing staff. Martina is one of my faves, she is always so personable and friendly and makes us feel right at home every time we return! The entire entertainment staff is amazing and makes sure that you have the best time during your stay. Frieda was so sweet as well! They truly work so hard and it doesn’t go unnoticed! The wait/ bar staff is also amazingly friendly, polite and personable. The hardest group of workers I have ever seen and always so sweet! We all can’t wait to come back next year! 🥰
We have stayed at 3/4 of the Solaris resorts. The most recent stay was at Royal Solaris Cancún. We were very pleased overall. It was not perfect, but definitely scored a 5/5. The staff overall went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful stay. We stayed 12 days/11 nights in the beginning of February.
There were always activities at the pool and beach area, many including alcohol. They were fun to watch! We loved playing beach volleyball, which would take place at 11 or 4. We really wished they would play more often.
There are quite a few staff members that stood out to my husband and me. We had to give kudos to them:
Jorge, the personal trainer, was amazing. Working out is not for everyone, and we understand that. Jorge does too. He was so personable, encouraging, and knowledgeable. He really took the time to try to get people involved. He had yoga or Pilates classes at least 3 days a week, followed by a legit HIIT or boot camp class, which were held out on the beach. (What a beautiful view!) Each class lasted about 45 min to an hour. He also held aqua aerobics or aqua HIIT classes 3 days a week, at least. We took part in the aqua HIIT, boot camp, and regular HIIT classes. All three of those classes were difficult and pushed us like our normal gym does back home. Jorge was always smiling, encouraging, and fun.
Alfredo was our housekeeper, who always cleaned our room very well. He was there at a convenient time everyday. Many of the days we had cute animals or designs on our bed.
Luis at the Veneto restaurant at GR Caribe had wonderful service and was accommodating to all of our requests. He also had good conversation with my husband. He was personable and had good recommendations as to what we would like. He went beyond our expectations to make us happy.
Lucely in the Royal Solaris gym kept the gym very clean. She was always busy while we were working out every day. The floor never had sand tracked all over. All the machines were clean, free of dust and sweat.
Aury, Juvenal, & Everardo in the Premier Bar at Royal Solaris made our evenings exciting. They were all very attentive, knew what our “normal” drinks were going to be, and gave recommendations of new drinks to try. We had many laughs here!
Estaban in Bogavante restaurant at GR Caribe was very attentive and a quick waiter. His brother, Richard, helped him wait on all the tables. They made a wonderful team. He even brought us out a special slice of chocolate cake, because we were celebrating our honeymoon. He brought us another special slice of cake to say “farewell” on our last day. He was always on his toes, as was his brother. When we talked to him about his wonderful service, he said he could not do it without the team behind the scenes: Israel, Luna, Eduardo, Ricky, Jacinto, and Christopher. I’m sure it takes a village to pull off what they did for us everyday.
