The resort sits on the edge of the jungle and the lagoons in a tropical and tranquil environment. When staying at this oasis, you can choose one of the resort’s luxurious room styles — standard or double standard, deluxe and junior suite. On top of that you can choose a room with your own personal Jacuzzi. Sandos Caracol offers a variety of activities for guests of all ages. All day, the Kids Club caters to children of 2 to 12 years, while the entertainment staff plans different adventures for teens. As a family, you can take the resort’s Eco or Snorkeling tours to see animals in their natural habitat. Along with the two swimming pools, one with a protected area for children, the resort has AQUA Park — an onsite water theme park with 17 different water slides. The recently renovated AQUA Park now features seven newly designed water slides for teens and adults and five smaller slides for younger children. There’s something for everyone in the family at Sandos Caracol.

I enjoyed every single detail about food, and the Roomservice, i really enjoyed the Ceviche it was amazing and also the Fajitas, the beverages and cocktails, everything! The ladscape is amazing with the cenotes I'll come back ASAP!
We stayed as a couple in early November and we booked the Select Club Superior portion adults only.
Room: We had a great location, very close to the adults only pool and AO breakfast and lunch a la carte, which turns into the Brazilian restaurant in the evening. We also had a jungle view and saw lots of birds, squirrels and monkeys. The room was very plain and lacked charm. There was no wall decor other than a mirror, white floors, white walls, very plain.
The room was clean, the ac worked well and there was a very small balcony. One night all of our lights quit working in our suite, it was fixed after a phone call. The mini bar was refreshed daily. We had to ask several times for the robes, fruit basket and wine that are included with this room.
Food: This is where it gets bad. The buffet was terrible. The hot food is not hot, we did not find one item that was hot. The food quality was lacking, tasteless and bland. In the Brazilian restaurant, open containers of sauces and spoons are not refreshed between guests. Even when we pointed out that we didn’t want to use the spoons and sauces used by all the guests before us, we were not given fresh utensils and sauces.
We had good meals at the Mediterranean and the Fish and Steakhouse. The Mexican restaurant was closed the entire time we were there. You will wait for all the restaurants, even the buffet, sometimes up to an hour or more. Reservations are not required and unless you get there at opening, you will wait.we were so happy to have the AO restaurant for lunch and breakfast or we would have been very hungry, we had a lot of good meals there but the menu is limited so it was repetitive, but saved us from the buffet. The Italian buffet breakfast is just a sad repeat of the main buffet.
Beach: Beautiful white sand beach that ends about ten feet into the water, then it’s rocky. Bring your water shoes and watch your ankles and hands, you will stumble. So many better beaches in the area.
Staff: Friendly and helpful, the service is great.
Nice that they conserved the jungle as much as possible, it’s a beautiful resort. The wildlife is everywhere and appears healthy.
Overall a very nice resort but their entire food service and management needs serious work. Daughter and her family were planning to visit next year but changed their minds due to the food quality and service issues. She and her husband work in the food service industry. Despite the many good things about this resort, we wouldn’t return due to the food.
