all i really need to say is that this was probably about our 20th visit to this special slice of heaven
everything you need to relax and decompress is right there
and the people who work there are the nicest people on the planet

Home away from home.

I returned from Petite Lafitte two weeks ago after having spent 5 blissful days away with 3 girlfriends. This is my fourth visit to the resort and i can assure you that it won't be my last. My first three visits to PL were with a group of 30 or so ladies attending Spring Fit, a fitness/yoga retreat. When we discovered that the retreat wasn't taking place this year a few of us realized that we couldn't go without our little Spring escape to the sun.

Our decision to return without the group was a little nerve wracking. Would it be the same? Was it going to feel as magical? Were we going to be treated as well? Was the staff going to remember us without our group? The answer to all of these questions was a resounding YES!

Ivan, I have no idea how you have managed to gather such amazing staff. I can honestly say that coming to PL feels like coming home. Your beaming smiles, warm hugs and sweet humour make us feel so welcome and like part of the family again. Everyone's sincerity and genuine kindness does not go unnoticed and is so appreciated.

I'd also like to add that the food at PL has always been exceptional to me. I've never had any complaints about the always fresh and flavourful ingredients. This year though, I definitely noticed that things have been taken up a notch in the kitchen and somehow... it has gotten even better. I noticed a welcome spike in the fresh Mexican flavours (that pork at the morning buffet... wow!! Seriously... wow!) and the presentation of all the meals as well as the drinks has been refined to near perfection. Kudos to the kitchen for making something already amazing even better.

As for entertainment; my family and I have travelled to numerous resorts providing obnoxious entertainment ALL day long. Being at PL and actually being able to listen to the waves crash upon the shore and to be able to read book without being dragged up for Salsa lessons is SO refreshing. You guys have mastered the fine art of simplicity. I absolutely love the Mariachi singers who perform some evenings and what can I say about the Mystic Monkeys live performance on the beach around the bonfire. Pure magic.

I look forward to returning next year with the Spring Fit group but before then I look forward to returning with my husband and my boys. It's time for them to experince my little Mexican home away from home.

Thanks so much for doing what you do and for sharing it with your devoted regulars.

Until we meet again,
Deborah
