New Santa Barbara Visitor Center

by SSNY55

We were in Santa Barbara for a wedding and stopped by their new Visitor Center on State Street. We got very useful information from Greg regarding fun things to do in Santa Barbara. His passion, enthusiasm and knowledge of Santa Barbara was apparent and he added to what was to be just a brief stay. We wound up adding on another night and free day so we could take in and do Greg's insider recommendations. The new Visitor Center at State Street in the commercial corridor and two blocks from the beach is a must stop in Santa Barbara for the latest information and a very select choice of unique Santa Barbara goods.

Best. Family. Vacation. Ever.

This place is like being on a cruise, only on land. Everything is taken care of. You literally have no decisions to make, other than which activities you want to sign up for. The staff is friendly, attentive, and eager to accommodate any reasonable request -- and probably some unreasonable ones too. So relaxing! The clientele is mostly young families, but many bring three (or more!) generations, so we seniors do not feel left out. Now I understand while people refer to UCSB as "UC-Club Med" -- that's what it feels like!
