The St Regis experience

Reached the hotel at slightly before noon but was informed that our room was not ready. After a while, we were informed that we have been upgraded to a suite but the original sea-view room we booked had become non sea-view suite. The location is a bit off the main road which renting a car is definite must. The valet parking is complimentary so we can just leave the car in front of the entrance and someone will pick it up. During check-in we were advised to be seated in the common area while waiting for them to process our documents.

The suite consist of a separate living area and bedroom area. The bathroom consist of 2 basins and separate stand shower and bathtub. A large walk in wardrobe is just beside the bathtub. The hotel is just beside the beach but perhaps it is low tide and raining season the beach is not so nice. Damp sand and retreated shore line is not really a sight to behold. There is balcony for all the rooms but due to the weather the balcony is not really useful. The suites comes with 3 cups of complimentary coffee/tea during the day which we make full use of it.

The breakfast selection is huge, I like the concept of unlimited chia seed and pumpkin seed and nuts we can add them into the yoghurt. The nasi lemak corner is kinda hidden which I didn't realize at first, lots of fruits selection and salad selection. They also have pancakes and waffles and noodles and porridge. And also they have ala carte menus for breakfast (egg products), she likes the lobster soup omelette. And the ice lychee tea is quite tasty.

Unfortunately they could not get my name right but i dont blame them. They must have been handling more than 100 different guest during the day. Everyone is extremely friendly and I'm sure my toddler has made a few more friends there (and he is obsessed the candy bowl at the check-in desk).

The hotel is located nearby the Kuah town so you get many food choice if you just find using Google Maps or Waze.

Lovely!

Stayed here in late April 2019 - our first trip to Langkawi. Had a wonderful week with my hubby and toddler.

Airport pickup was great! Loved the biscuits in the car - was a great touch. Check-in was smooth.

F&B staff (especially Anilan and Prem) are really friendly and super helpful. Pantai grill restaurant served delicious seafood - just wish it was open more often. It’s also a really romantic setting with the lights in the trees and the sea in-front. We were happy with the breakfast spread and choices provided via the al a cart menu.

I was a bit disappointed with the beach though - I believe this beach is man made and when the tide was out it didn’t look great. I had heard the beaches in Langkawi are meant to be beautiful.

Our pool suite was really beautiful... spacious and clean. Loved the packing and unpacking service and the butler service was great overall! My one feedback is that the flowers/vine covering the top of the pool needed some tending to (or just remove them - we ended up getting a lot of dead leaves and flowers in our pool and the water was quite cold.

They did a cute towel decoration and gave us a cake for my little boys birthday which we loved.

Overall a lovely stay and we would love to go back!
