The two bed apartment we had was large and clean but had minimal equipment. A large oven but no trays so you couldn’t cook anything! Just about enough plates cups and cutlery for four people but only just enough. No corkscrews which was a disaster one night after a long hot day at Disney! Reception always said we’ll get that right away but never did.
After a week we asked when the sheets and towels would be changed. We were told, “we don’t change them every day!” Next day still not changed.
I believe each apartment has its own owner who supplies the equipment so maybe others are better supplied but sheets and towels?
On the good side it’s a great location for Universal and pretty good for Disney. Very close to I4 (but too close as you can always hear the noise when outside). Grounds were clean and the pool looked ok but we didn’t get round to using it. Broadband was very good.
I just got back from Tuscana today. I have to say that I was dreading which apartment I would be given as it sounds a little like a lottery. I had an apartment in building 3, on the ground floor.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a little balcony/outside area.
There was so much space and it meant both of my children could have their own double room- and at 10 and 8 years old this was invaluable.
Overall, Tuscana isn’t a 5 star hotel, but a spacious base for you to use throughout your holiday in my opinion. As long as your expectations are for that, you’ll have no worries. The swimming pool is great, the condos are big, the staff are helpful (our washing machine stopped working and they got straight on this) and having the ability to wash your clothes and make breakfast before you head out for the day was something that we really loved.
The cocktails and food at the pool (at the weekend only) were reasonable and we didn’t really use any other facilities so can’t really comment.
I wouldn’t go back as we have now ‘done Florida’ but this is a good base from which you can enjoy your holiday.
Go to the reception to collect towels for swimming, daily.
Travel to Target to buy a decent shop for the duration of your holiday.
Millers restaurant there has some good hearty food.
The pool is manned so watch your little ones- oh and if it’s storming they don’t stop you. Swimming in the rain is lovely.
Look out for the local wildlife- we loved watching the raccoons and a crazy squirrel who are foraging for food! Made us smile!!!
The pool seemed to be really quiet in the morning before 11 if you fancy a swim before you head out for the day.
