We stayed at Tuscana for two weeks over Easter 2019. This was our base to do the Parks and Explore Orlando and we weren’t disappointed. Reading some of the reviews before our trip I was a little apprehensive but thankfully on arrival we were pleasantly surprised.
After about an hour drive from Orlando International (traffic is bad!) we arrived at a well kept Mediterranean looking Tuscana resort. Check in was easy and we were greeted by a friendly and helpful young lady who told us a bit about the hotel as well as the local area and eateries. We got our keys and went to block 4. The resort is split in to separate accommodation blocks and the apartments are part holiday lets, part residential. Our 2 bedroom apartment was clean, ample space with two walk in closets and our balcony was on the side of the I4 road. The road noise isn’t really an issue although you can hear it when stood on the balcony. When the sliding door is shut it’s soundproof. The decor and furniture is a little dated but is clean and well kept and caused no issues just the look and feel is sort of 80’s / early 90’s. Security seemed fine on the apartment and complex and we never had any issues other than our safe battery was dead (we never asked for a replacement).
The pool is lovely, a good size and has plenty of loungers and around the edge has covered pagodas for guest use. The pool was always very quiet and we had it to ourselves most of the time due to people visiting the parks and the fact some of the apartments are residential and the locals were working. Pool towels were provided each time. A baby pool is nice and is segregated from the main larger pool.
The one downside was the restaurant and bar was closed but you were free to bring your own beers, drinks and food in to the area (no glass).
Nearby there are great amenities, a number of 24 hour stores (7 eleven and Walgreens) as well as a large Publix which is really good but a tad expensive. Also loads of restaurants although booking is advised as these got very busy early evening. Fast food outlets were fine the usual Mcdonalds, Wendy’s and dunkin etc a few minutes drive away.
You will need a car as the resort don’t lay on any transport. The parks are about 40 mins away in the traffic and believe me the traffic is bad. Each hour of the day in the Disney corridor the I4 is frustratingly busy. A tip from me is to use the old Wilson road to avoid the I4, it’s longer in miles but faster in time.
We had no issues checking out and we’ve been back almost a month and no credit card charges other than the resort fee we expected.
I’ll definitely return for our next Florida holiday
From the outside the resort is lovely. The pool ares is clean and welcoming. Our first day there was May 3. The bedroom was filthy. There was debris including trash, plastic from store tags and black dirty spots on the carpet. The carpets were generally disgusting. Clearly they had not been vacuumed. The toilet was sluggish on Friday. By Saturday it wasn’t flushing anything. We reported it in person at the front desk. They apologized and said someone would be up. No one ever came. When we checked out on May 5 the toilet still didn’t work. When we checked in we were told our bill was paid in full but a credit card was needed for incidentals. On check we were billed $123. Apparently our bill was not paid in full though we were billed already??? I have included pictures though they really don’t show the filth accurately.
