Overview

Without a doubt, New Hampshire’s White Mountains have some of the most adventurous and difficult skiing in the Northeast. But most families-especially those with younger children-would be happier with a smaller mountain with less challenging terrain where it’s possible to ski together without losing each other in the crowds. Enter Whitney’s, where families can walk right out and ski Black Mountain, family-friendly mountains with two-dozen trails in Jackson, New Hampshire, including many novice and intermediate runs (along with a fair share of black-diamonds for parents and teens).

The B&B also caters to families with a fair number of larger rooms with double queen beds or a pullout sofa; several rooms also connect to allow families to stay together while still having privacy. Rooms are adorably (if sparsely) decorated with a woodsy New Hampshire theme-think pine trees and moose. Some include hickory log-four poster beds. Larger family suites and cottages have two levels, some with both king bed and double twins. In addition to the comfy lodgings, the inn is also attached to a family-friendly tavern serving up New England favorites like Yankee pot roast and fish n’ chips, with live entertainment at night.

Delightful surprise

We were a bit off season and one of a few people staying in late October. The gentleman at the desk was like family and let us upgrade our room and gave an excellent recommendation for dinner. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast options were all $8 and well worth it. It was the most reasonable place in town with the best reviews - and I totally agree!

Rustic,cozy, clean and comfortable.

I found this place when I messed up my day in vacation planning. We had driven by in earlier years but was thrilled to stay here last week but only for the day. Lee was nice nice enough to let us in early even as the cleaning was in progress.I find this willing to work with us a kind quality and would like them to get future business as a result of that gesture.
We enjoyed the fireplace and I loved being by the stream. The outdoor balcony (room 28) gave us some quiet separation and a place to relax. It is off the beaten path, fine for us.
Do NOT go the the stables next door unless you like being abused or berated, nasty owner and as far as I know not affiliated with Whitney's Inn.
My daughter ate at the pub and enjoyed the fool there also.
Hope you are feeling better Lee.
See you next year.
Respectfully,
