The new Wyndham Grand opened on Clearwater Beach in January 2017. Offering 343 guest rooms in two towers with ocean or intracoastal views and free Wi-Fi, the hotel is steps from Pier 60 and boating activities. An outdoor pool overlooks the beach, and guests can enjoy all-day dining at the hotel’s Asian-fusion Ocean Hai organic restaurant. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., the menu includes sushi and sashimi. A lobby cafe, Eskpades, provides coffee and snacks from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Poolside dining is also available at DocK’s Pool Bar & Grill between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Room options provide accommodations for two to four with a king or two queen beds. Rooms feature mini fridges and flat-screen TVs, with suites also including sofa beds in living areas and a dining area.
The best part about this hotel? The Winter the Dolphin-themed guestrooms! The six aquatic-themed rooms offer one king bed and a bunk bed for families of four.

I'm always going to give the hotel 5 stars, because it is a great hotel on a great location.
The good: Location, pool, bar, in and out valet parking with quick service, complimentary bottled water and coffee in the room. And we had a room with a King and bunk beds. That was fun!
TThe bartender on the day we arrived was funny as S*#t. She was working alone and had a bar full of people, so she was slinging drinks so fast, she kept knocking everything over. At one point, she filled a jigger with Patron, and dashed it into the glass so hard, it flew out the other side and onto the bar. She says, "Did you see that jump right out of there!" HAHAHA!
Hey bartender manager, you need to get her some new squeeze bottles for the syrup, every time she squirted some, it would leak around the lid and spew syrup all over the bar. HA! And she was making so many sweet cocktails for out-of-town tourists, the whole bar was sticky! You need to go to Sam's, where you can get really nice ones cheap (squeeze bottles, not tourists).
The bad: Housekeeping did "turn-down" both nights, but didn't even make the bed. Just put chocolate on the pillow and left the bed unmade. So after my wife and I enjoyed the early afternoon in the bed, and went to the sunset show at the pier, we had to return to an unkempt bed.
The two days we were there, they didn't replace the coffee, water, towels or pull trash. In fact, they didn't even service our room at all. Weird. I've never seen that in a hotel. They did bring us a stack of towels and some coffee cartridges when we called, but just sort of handed them to my wife through the doorway.
Apparently, the dentist convention had them 100% full, and according to other reviews I have read, they had their rooms serviced twice a day. Damn dentists.
The bunk bed has a weight limit of 150#, so my wife couldn't sleep on top. :(
It's a toss up whether Bad Fins (under the pool), or the bar at the pool has better nachos, but the bar at the pool charges 19% service charge on everything, even if you walk up to the bar to get it. Which is fine, but what happened to recommended 15% tip for staff? Basing something on percentage is inflation-resistant by definition, and what if the service was terrible? Do you negotiate a discount on the service charge?
Anyway, we are local so we are there pretty often. Thanks for having such a cool resort.
Everything about this hotel is perfect. The rooms are extremely clean, beds were super comfortable and the room was so beautifully decorated. I loved the location, the sunsets were so beautiful. The staff were extremely accommodating and I be honest, I didn't want to leave. I will definitely go back.
