Overview

The new Wyndham Grand opened on Clearwater Beach in January 2017. Offering 343 guest rooms in two towers with ocean or intracoastal views and free Wi-Fi, the hotel is steps from Pier 60 and boating activities. An outdoor pool overlooks the beach, and guests can enjoy all-day dining at the hotel’s Asian-fusion Ocean Hai organic restaurant. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., the menu includes sushi and sashimi. A lobby cafe, Eskpades, provides coffee and snacks from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Poolside dining is also available at DocK’s Pool Bar & Grill between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. Room options provide accommodations for two to four with a king or two queen beds. Rooms feature mini fridges and flat-screen TVs, with suites also including sofa beds in living areas and a dining area.

The best part about this hotel? The Winter the Dolphin-themed guestrooms! The six aquatic-themed rooms offer one king bed and a bunk bed for families of four.

Magnificent Hotel in Every Way!!!

The Wyndham Grand is the best hotel I have ever stayed at in my lifetime for multiple reasons. First and foremost, absolutely EVERY staff member was friendly, helpful and attentive. They provided service above and beyond any expectation we had for our stay. This started from the moment we pulled up to the valet through check-in and out, the bellman service and the room service. A special thanks to Bellman Rylie and Stuart for their exceptional care, and Registration desk staff including the gentlemen from our northern area, that I did not remember his name, but remember his story of coal. The staff in the Pavilion Spa was fantastic. The Staff even said to go in front of them at the Starbucks in the hotel, since we were guests. Everyone said hello to us as they passed us. Even down to the maintenance men. We were totally blown away by the staff---BEST EVER!!!
The hotel was only two years old and exceptionally clean. The dayshift maids cleaned the room perfectly, and the night-time maids turned down our beds and gave candy on our pillows and folded the beautiful included robes on our beds. The slippers were too narrow to use, but also very nice. Although the weather was not at its best, we were happy due to the care of staff and accommodations, and many things to do in the Pavilion Spa and around town.
If there was anything I was not pleased with they were extremely minor. Example: I did not like the toilet paper holder, because the paper kept falling of the holder (although the bathroom was beautiful and the shower fantastic), the restaurant could have more American choices (although the food was delicious and artistic) and, if possible in the future, an indoor pool would be great for those days of inclement weather.
All and all, we absolutely will stay there again. We loved everything about our experience at the Wyndham Grand, Clearwater Beach, Florida.

Very disappointed with check-in

My husband and I came here to the Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach to celebrate our 33rd anniversary. We selected this hotel thinking it would be a beautiful part of Florida to visit, which it is. Upon arriving, as we checked in, we were told that there is a $400 incidential fee (mind you our room is already paid for). That has already put a damper on our vacation due to not being able to spend alot, due to the hold. Every year we travel from up north to different parts of Florida and this has been the worse as far as a hotel/resort check-in service. That isn't all, when we went to check our balance (now we have to be mindful of how much we spend, once again) there was an additional $40 added to our hold. So much for the celebration. When my husband inquired about the additional fee they seemed unsure as to why but said that it would be taken care of. Until then, we will be vigilant as to our funds and careful not to overspend, causing our account to go into a negative status. We are very disappointed, but enjoying the beauty of Clearwater, Florida.
