Old world service in modern setting. The hotel's crown jewel is a stunning swimming pool set in the Atlantic Ocean. Another pool is situated on land for those not wishing to take the stairs down and back. Rooms are huge with seatng and eating spaces. Dinner in the restaurant was world class both in service and delicious cuisine. Breakfast offering were plentiful and cooked to order. Yet it is a casual, relaxing place, set directly on the island's edge. Free shuttle.

Stunning views overlooking the Atlantic and Desertas Islands in the distance, especially from the pools down by the ocean and from the first floor bedrooms with balconies. The hotel is superb with great facilities and the kind of place you would go to just relax. The food in the restaurant is outstanding and vegetarians are well catered for. The service from all the staff at the hotel was just amazing but not obtrusive. It has to be one of the best hotel experiences my wife and I have had for a very long time.
