Barcelo Maya Palace is a fantastic place for families to get the most out of their Riviera Maya vacation. Kids will view the resort as a new world of fun with all the activities available. Besides the beach, there are many pools — one designated the “Activities Pool”, and another with a natural rock waterfall. Children also can play on the onsite water park, or meet other kid in the children’s activity program, the Barcy Club. Parents can enjoy luxuries as well, such as the onsite spa and tranquil adult swimming pool. Barcelo has an all-inclusive rate program that includes rooms, activities and meals at five onsite restaurants. The resort provides non-motorized water sports equipment, like kayaks and snorkel gear, and a miniature golf course is on the premises. Family Suite Deluxe rooms are spacious and have interconnected rooms, perfect for families.

A wonderful, fantastic, resort on a beautiful scenic compound. Friendly and helpful staff, clean looking and aesthetically pleasing architecture. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. I like the fact that there was a bathtub and a shower with a double vessel sink area with a private sliding smoked glass door for the toolet area. The bed, furniture, cieling fan, television and AC were all on point!
I have stayed at Barcelo resorts 5 times. I was given a $140 resort credit for this stay and was told by the concierge that I could spend it on babysitting services. I even calculated how many hours I could get of babysitting services with the money with the concierge directly and then booked the services with the same concierge. When I went to check out, the front desk staff and manager insisted I owed $121 for the babysitting. They claimed there was no way the concierge would tell me the credit could be used for babysitting. The front desk manager, Enrique Reyes Lopez, refused to let me leave the hotel until I paid the $121, and that if I tried to leave in my waiting taxi, security would not allow me out of the front gate. I told him adamantly that this amounted to them holding me hostage and misinforming me. I was forced to pay the money or I would have been held their and missed my flight. They took total advantage of me. Travelers should be aware that the customer service at the front desk and management is HORRIBLE and they have no room to listen or be reasonable. Their refusal to even consider what the concierge told me is equivalent to the hotel accusing me of lying and stealing. This was humiliating way to end my vacation. Further, they showed no respect for me, a repeat customer of their resorts 5 times in 6 years. It's too bad because the resort is very nice, the food is great, and most of the staff is very pleasant. But the front desk ruined it. BEWARE OF THE BARCELO MAYA PALACE. Mr. Enrique Reyes Lopez is a very rude and unpleasant person. One last note. When I checked in, they charged me $70 more than what I was quoted online. They also charged an environmental tax even though when I booked the reservation, the reservation quote said taxes were included. THE IRONY IS THAT THE RESORT CREDIT IS PART OF THEIR REWARD FOR MY BEING A RETURN CUSTOMER, YET INSTEAD OF TREATING ME HONOR FOR RETURNING, THEY TREAT ME WITH INCREDIBLE DISRESPECT AND DISHONOR.
