Reviews

Daily problems, but management/owner resolved most but has REACTIVE style not PROACTIVE

We stayed at this hotel for approx 30 days in their suite. Beware as the right side sink does not drain; the faucet for the tub leaks; the tub is not connected to the drain and drains directly to the floor; there are no pillow nor mattress protectors; the staff does not speak English at all. I regret having to write this review but the facts remain. Here are more problems: once or twice a week we had to request coffee, toilet tissue, water, or coffee filters; every week we requested sheets that actually covered the mattress (see pic); twice 2 separate strangers (men) opened up our room (use wifi keys) of which one pretended to be an electrician who walked across the room, turned on the hair dryer and exited ???; there is no breakfast, lunch, or dinner offered; we lost electricity 3 times; we did not have water at all on 2 separate days; after an unexpected return from a scheduled class offsite the owner's school age uniformed girl was hanging out one of the windows of our room laughing which I did not appreciate strangers roaming around the room with our stuff (passports, etc.); the room safe does NOT function; the floors were not completely swept and mopped on a daily basis (hit and miss); our wash rags with Old Navy characters were taken apparently "lost"; the shower had little pressure and when plumber came he didn't tighten well and water of course went every direction; the maid was not trained well in her duties. The room is noisy as Crespo Street carries a LOT of traffic. There was an unprecedented amount of rainfall that flooded 1/2 of the room with a min. of 1/8" of water. Hotel did not answer phone I could hear ringing. No one heard my cries for help, and the owner did not speak English. After 6 tries I spoke enough Spanish to report immediate help was needed as their room 304 flooded and spoke with a translator of the owner. The chef (they don't have one any more) was the one who squeezied the water out of the room and there was quite a lot of it. These are just a few of the problems we experienced. Now that said, the management took a REACTIVE approach and resolved most of our daily problems. This is a sad statement to make as the hotel is modern and beautiful. It has so much potential but poor attention to the conditions and maids were lacking.

Oh well

This was our 2nd hotel this trip. Building is very pretty and we had the master suite
Price was great but you work for it.

1st the unit. Very nicely designed with complete open concept
That includes the shower and toilet that have obscured glass walls, not too private.
The floor is tile so be careful around those glass walls when it is wet.

The staff speaks no english but responded whenever there was a problem and corrected it, mostly. Maid service is very poor.

Beautiful building but poorly run. Great price but you have lots of involvement which justifies the price. Problems encountered below and were mostly resolved.

3 times lights would not work ar night, appears to be circuit related and staff had to call someone for info to restore service

Room has a tub but not connected to the drain. Filling it floors floor

Ran out of water, appeared to be pipe related. It was repaired but went 24 hours without water.

Consequent repair, refill of tank stirred up sediment, blocked shower head, plumber called and corrected problem but left a leak that shot water 3 feet when you turned on shower.

Maid issues include repeated requests for coffee and filters, no sheets to fit king size bed so a twin bed sheet used that covered only the top part of the bed but not the bottom third. Floor swept once or twice a week. Etc

What appeared to be a member of the family ,(in school uniform) in the room waving at people when we were not there - discovered when we were coming back.

But the capper was a very heavy rain which ran under the door because no thresholds or door sweeps on bottom. Flooded 1/2 the floor. Called repeatedly
On phone and yelled out window for help. Hour into it, the cook came and swept the water out.

Your discount and cheap price will be justified by the amount of time you will spend to manage problems

Room had a wine chiller. After the electrical disruptions, the alarm on it went off every 90 minutes till we unplugged it in
