Poor event

by Kenrick B

Timid, ridiculous, panicky, and low key rude are a few words I'd use to describe my experience with one "event planner" from this resort. We were taken on a rollercoaster ride filled with twist and turns which ultimately crashed and burned. Our guests were left disgruntled and dissatisfied with the level of service/treatment towards the end of our event. It's as if the service provided was that of a favoured one and not paid. I would NEVER recommend this space for any event, be it a party, wedding or even a meeting.

Give this place a chance!

Prior to arriving, my husband and I stayed at Sandals South Coast for 4 days. Our expectations were high; however, we were very disappointed. It was our honeymoon and we were suppose to receive the honeymoon package. We received nothing. Our room was tiny and the staff members were unwilling to help, unless a tip was received. Long story short, our stay at Sandals was terrible.

Now, I'll list what the Jewel Grande resort had that Sandals did not:

-friendly staff who were nice, even without being tipped
-beautiful beach and an ocean we could swim in (it was clear)
-huge room with excellent view of the ocean
- the room had a washer and dryer, and soap was provided
-2 bathrooms and a kitchenette
-two tv's with cable
-large outdoor patio
-delicious breakfast and lunch buffet with a variety of food each day, unlike Sandals
-friendly butlers (Thank you Lenroy and Kade)
-dinner restaurants were delicious
-fairly quiet (I didn't encounter many guests)
-real ice cream and pastries that were edible
-restaurants that were open on time

This resort is fairly new, and you get a lot for what you pay for (in comparison to Sandals). It may have its growing pains, but it's new. Take advantage of going now, because I guarantee that once it builds its reputation as being an excellent resort, the prices will go up. We had a lovely honeymoon here, and were treated like VIP.
