My boyfriend and I stayed here for a weekend getaway. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the hotel bell staff while our Uber driver unloaded our luggage. They offered us a bottle of water and opened the door for us to enter the hotel. As soon as you step inside the foyer, you're met with an AMAZING smell that instantly makes you feel like you're at home. On a side note: you can purchase candles in the spa that smell exactly like the hotel. I highly recommend purchasing one! The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and thoroughly explained what was included in our stay, as well as the layout of the hotel. She escorted us to the elevators where the bell man was right in tow with our luggage. I was already blown away at this point, and we were just getting started. While our room was not a river view, it was still extremely nice. The bathrooms are large and offer a jacuzzi tub that comes with a....wait for....bath butler! Yes, you can call for a bath butler to draw you a bath. Honestly, I think that was my favorite part. The room was well insulated so you do not hear your neighbors, nor do you hear other guests walking in the hallway. Our housekeeper's name was Linda (she was also my bath butler) and she truly made us feel like Mokara was our home during our stay. Also, every evening they offer a turn down service that comes with fresh robes, slippers, and eye masks- such a nice way to finish your day from the hustle and bustle of the river walk. No, Mokara is not the cheapest hotel on the river walk but trust me- you won't regret staying here. My boyfriend and I are already looking forward to our next visit!
