This one is best for parents on a vacation of their own, with a location right by the Woodhouse Day Spa -- enjoy a spa treatment and then sink into your Heavenly Bed by Westin.
The room was way overpriced for what you get. The rooms are old, not decorated well, and the carpet is gross. The pool was small, not heated, as was needing repair. Couldn’t sit outside on the street level for happy hour as it was all taped off. WiFi was terrible. Stay somewhere else.
We have stayed at several hotels on the Riverwalk and this is our favorite! Kevin greeted us as we walked in and helped us check in. He was professional, helpful, and had a great attitude! Diamond was our bellman and helped us get everything to our room. We decided to stay an extra night and Eryka made the extension easy and with a smile. Definitely check out the bar. Derrick (bartender) knows how to make a great drink. He went the extra mile when I requested guacamole. Although it was not on the menu, he made it for us. We just got back home today and already booked 2 more trips to this hotel.
The hotel has a rooftop pool that's surrounded by chaises and chairs. It's a relaxing oasis for families, especially after a busy morning in the heat. The pool is open seasonally, with a pool bar that serves food in the spring and summer.

Kids aren't forgotten either; a separate kids' menu delivers peanut butter and jelly, grilled cheese, chicken crisps and more.

The hotel has a small gift shop that sells a nice collection of souvenirs, plus toiletries and other essentials. It's open until 11 p.m., Sunday to Thursday, and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
The Art of Smart Timing
Despite its large size, The Westin fills to capacity practically any time of year. The best time to visit, however, is fall, when the temperatures and crowds dip just slightly.
Fly into San Antonio International Airport, less than 30 minutes from the hotel. Expect to hit traffic if arriving during morning or evening rush hour periods.
The hotel is located right on San Antonio's River Walk; if you plan to spend all of your time downtown, you really won't need a vehicle. If you have plans to visit attractions outside of the downtown district (and you should), you'll need a car. Attractions that aren't located downtown include the DoSeum, SeaWorld and Six Flags. Self parking is available for $16, and valet parking is $39.
For Mom and Dad
The hotel hosts La Merienda (otherwise known as happy hour) Monday to Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. Parents can enjoy complimentary cocktails and hors' d'oeuvres. Kids are welcome to join their parents, though there's nothing specific offered for kids.
You might also consider heading to Zocca for a quiet dinner or nightcap, or arranging a treatment at Woodhouse, the hotel's day spa. The spa offers a plentiful mix of services, such as massages, facials and wraps, along with a Duet Massage for couples. The spa is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends, and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekdays.
