We had a noon luncheon function at the Ritz Carlton and needed a place to stay within walking distance and the Orchard Garden Hotel was one of the closest hotels. I called the night before our arrival to see if we could valet park our car (it's pricey and we discovered you could self park your car at a public lot about a half block away) before noon, drop our bags at the front desk, and then get to our event which was a couple of blocks away. They were more than happy to do that for us. We were running late and ended up arriving at 12:30 pm. Much to our surprise, when we arrived our room was ready! We were able to leave our car with the valet, drop our bags in the room, and run to our event. The hotel was easy to find and the location to the freeway was convenient. The rooms were comfortable and quiet and staff were friendly and accommodating. I love that they are a green hotel so no plastic and throw away bottles or cups. The robe they provided was soft and perfect after my morning shower. The location was within walking distance to everything we needed ... dinner in Chinatown and breakfast over by Union Square.
The property offers good value in a pricey city, provided you book early. Great location, with easy access to transit and numerous dining options nearby. BYO water bottle - the dispensers for chilled, filtered water help the hotel live up to its green commitments, as does the only-by-request linen changes Strong, steady wifi throughout. Spotless bathroom and textiles.
The only quibbles are the condition of the elevator vestibule carpet (needs deep cleaning or replacement) and early signs of wear on some of the hard furniture edges.
