Reviews

Excellent!!

by jefrosen

The hotel and the staff are truly great. The property itself is fabulous, beautiful sitting area, dining room and bar. Every person at the hotel was friendly always asking if there was something they could do for us. I felt welcomed and pampered and appreciated as a visitor in their hotel and their town.
I ca't say enough good things about this hotel and I look forward to planning another trip to Porto so I can make sure to stay here again!!

Where else can you stay in a palace!

by Coastal660732

This really was a palace, retrofitted as a hotel. The principal rooms are decorated with period furniture and in the eating areas you can see the remains of the frescoes that once decorated the palace walls. The rooms are in an adjacent, more modern building where the gym, spa, ballroom and meeting rooms are located. There is a bar, an infinity pool and a terrace that overlook the Douro river. That's a magical place from which to watch the sunset. My one and only complaint is that there is not enough lighting in the room. I literally had to wait for daylight to pack my suitcase because at night, the lights are few and very dim.
