Made up of three different hotels, this collective has some rooms that families with children over 10 will love. Since it is located in Nantucket, guests are never too far from the beach. The hotel loans guests beach items such as beach chairs, towels, and totes to make a perfect family day at the beach. The Suite 45 at Arbor Cottage is great for families of up to four with a queen bed in one room and two twin beds in another. Packages are available through the hotel for extra services such as a spa day or tickets to the whaling museum.

Loved it!

by Tina M

We loved everything about this hotel. We walked up from Steamship Wharf and it took less than 5 minutes. We knew we were super early so just wanted to go and drop off our bags. Carly at the front desk said our room was being cleaned so to come back in about half an hour. We went for a bit to eat and when we got back Carl handed us the keys to our room - our bags were already up there. We were in room 23 on the top floor and the harbor view was everything we could ask for. Very nice balcony that we enjoyed sitting out on quite a bit. We already knew the room wasn't going to be large - but with the great windows and balcony it seemed much larger. The furnishings and bedding were great. It was super clean. Bathroom is a little tight but towels and toiletries were great. We found it very quiet at night and heard no other noise from inside the hotel. Breakfast in the morning was great - nice selection of muffins, bagels and bowls of fruit. Carl came around to take orders from the kitchen - either french toast or tomato/spinach quiche that day. We both had the quiche and it was delicious. My only complaint was that I couldn't access wifi at all in my room. Went down to the lobby and did get it there - not a huge deal as I wasn't on Nantucket to be on my computer the whole time anyways! We absolutely loved our stay and the service we received from this hotel. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Great place to stay especially in a Nor’easter!

We have been coming to Nantucket for over 20 years and have stayed in a number of different locations. Veranda House is really one of the best. The location is just a few blocks from downtown and yet it is very quiet. We stayed in the Chapman House which is maybe 20 steps to the main house. We were in room 8 which was a good size and had two wingback chairs, perfect for reading. We loved that there were several different living rooms between the two buildings as well as multiple outside locations. Carl and the staff provided first class service. Our room was very clean and refreshed every day. The warm breakfast was a highlight! We were grateful for the fireplace and cozy lobby as we rode out an unexpected storm! We will look forward to returning. really one of the best. The location is just a few blocks from downtown and yet it is very quiet.
