The Bahia was a gem of a find and just a block to the beach (staff will take you down in a golf cart, fun!). We stayed in a poolside room that was sleek, modern and comfortable. All the amenities of a top-notch hotel in the states. We had a small patio and could get food and drinks served from the restaurant and poolside bar (Danny and Antonio were so helpful and friendly. It was the most relaxing vacation we've had in years.
The hotel bar (Bar Esquina) was perfect and had a large selection of tequilas that Luis (master bar tender!) would let you try before ordering. I can't stress enough how good the food was at the hotel restaurant, both Bar Esquina and the beachside Sur Restaurant - great meats and Acapulco-style seafood (fresh caught, light, mouth-watering). With no exceptions, the staff was amazing - fantastic service. We couldn't believe how happy everyone was and so eager to help. Almost everyone spoke very good English. The only caveat is that our bed was a little firm, but that won't stop us from coming back again and again!

I am a frequent solo traveler and have never been to a place where I did not feel safe inside my hotel room. There were two occasions during my stay where the non housekeeping staff walked into my room without knocking or announcement. The first incident I had just gotten out of the shower and my door just opened. The security chain was latched and the lady apologized and closed the door. I called the front desk they stated that the staffer was unaware that the room was occupied. I let that slip up go... The next evening I had falling asleep across my bed and woke up to my door being slammed shut. When I get up. My door is unlocked and I see a man walking away from my door. My door was now unlocked with the security chain off (both of these are ALWAYS locked). When I called the front desk to report the second incident. I was told that the staffer thought I had requested turn down service but was mistaken. No one could explain to me why or how these incidents happened and no one can explain to me why the staffers did not at the very least knock before entering my room as housekeeping did each day. I asked for the General managers information as the guest services Damaraus seemed dismissive of the situation when I visited the front desk shortly after. She did offer a free night on my next visit but there will be no next visit. I have an early morning flight and it was about 8pm when this incident happened. I contemplated checking out then and heading to the airport but opted to just prop the chair and ironing board under the door handle in case someone else decided to let themselves in. I am now unable to relax and won't be getting any sleep here this last night but luckily won't be here much longer. I definitely will not be returning and suggest a different hotel when visiting Cabo.
Observation: The dead bolt secured from the inside automatically unlocks when someone enters from the outside with a keycard. The security chain did not secure on the second incident!
