Good location , nice beach, breakfast good, snack’s bar poor organization, dinner quality average. staff were not prepared for full hotel capacity, nevertheless they were fairly attentive, clean rooms but the hotel in general requires a renovation

All Inclusive = FUN

I visited Ixtapa, Guerrero for the very first time from Aug. 30 to Sept. 2. My husband and I were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and I must say we enjoyed our stay. We got a regular hotel room because we figured we wouldn’t even be in our room the whole day BUT when checking in we got upgraded from street view to ocean view for free!! Thank you so much for that. The all inclusive includes a mini fridge with two waters, two juice boxes, beer cans, two bottled sodas, and peanuts. I might be forgetting what else but it gets replenished once a day for free. There’s a few buffers and they’re all included for free. There’s a snack bar by the pool they have nachos, ice cream and bunch of other food. The bar pool is also located right there so it’s really easy to be in the pool and enjoy a lot of free drinks which are already included. There’s three restaurants that you can attend ONCE for every 3 night stay. They are by reservation only and if you want Italian food please dress formal since it’s strictly enforced if not you’ll have to eat in the terrace which is still very nice! My husband and I made reservations at the concierge office (it’s located to the right when entering the hotel lobby before the Barcelo shop) you must go in person starting at 9 am be on time or they run out of reservations for the day. In the concierge office we booked a boat that took us fishing. If you catch fish once you arrive to Playa Veradero they’ll cook it for you. If you don’t then food is already included once you arrive. You can go swimming in the beach or snorkeling which was really fun and such an amazing experience. If you want to do it on your own you can or you can pay an instructor 100 pesos ($5.50) to give you a private lesson. He also takes pictures with his waterproof camera so keep yours safe and dry, for about 200 pesos ($10) . On our way over to Playa Coral the boat conductor took us to see dolphins and sea turtles! He is very knowledgeable and I highly recommend it. You can get it cheaper if you go directly to muelle de Zihuatanejo and book it with the fishermen there but I felt super safe since they provided transportation to and from Barcelo and we were never left alone which is good for our first visit. They also have ATV tours, horseback riding, and direct boats to go snorkeling, and to Barra de Potosí. Staying all day at the resort and the beach which is only steps away is amazing but exploring Isla de IXTAPA and all they’re beaches like Playa la Ropa, Playa Linda, Playa las Gatas, and Playa Coral which is 1 of 4 beaches on the island is amazing. The fisherman told me there’s a beach next to Playa Coral which is for nudists but I’m not too sure it was empty when we passed by. Make sure to take bug repellent they will EAT your legs lol. Ask if they will do a release the turtles during your stay that was something really amazing to see. Stay hydrated! Wear lots of sunscreen since it’s always sunny and very humid you sweat uncontrollably but being in the pool and on the beach you cool down a lot. During the night you must go to Sanca Bar for a few drinks and live music. It’s a bit small but if you go all the way to the back you might find more open seats. I wish it was bigger though. Another fun thing to do is to go to Fiesta Mexicana night. They have a LOVELY show and AMAZING food. The best thing about this hotel is that customer services is a 10! I can’t complaint cause they were all very amazing employees and I never saw one worker be rude to any guest and I loved that. Have fun and enjoy!
