Our stay for the most part was great, 2 nights the air conditioner wasn't working properly but they got it fixed. Our room was nice, everything worked and the maids kept it very clean. The food was tasty and fresh, kinda repetitive but good. The beach is one of the nicest one I've been at, it's wide and flat. The water can be unpredictable so we did a lot of relaxing under the palapas and had a drink. They have amazing guys bringing you drinks on the beach. The weather is always awesome, we just enjoyed our time so much and will definitely be back. We had a photo shoot done by the photographer on site. his name is Julio, he did and amazing job!! Thank you so much to all the staff who work so hard at making our stay so enjoyable.

We were a family of 7 - with 5 adults and two pre teens. We all had the most amazing vacation at the Holiday Inn Ixtapa. We traveled with Sunwing and had excellent flight times and all ran ON time- in fact we left early.
We were so pleased with our room - we were in the little bunglows and facing the garden and front entrance. The room was perfect and spacious for 2. The bathroom had a huge walk in shower - lots of HOT water - really nice towels and toiletries.
Enough drawers and cupboards and hangars for both our clothes.
The KING bed was so comfortable with really nice linens-changed daily- a big difference from the Beds in Cuba (Ouch). I was thrilled we had very restful sleeps. One night was a bit loud with music...but there was a celebration outside..it ended soon enough.
The rooms were cleaned daily and they were pretty spotless. Its an old complex but better than I expected, really well run.
I cannot say enough about the staff there. They are the most friendly people, and so attentive its almost embarrassing. If you even glanced at a waiter he was there at your table. Premium service.
We just loved the food. So much Original cuisine to choose from. I ate as authentic as I could every day. The fruit was glorious, great bread and pretty good wine. The drinks were very good.
The resort seemed smaller than I thought and was not too busy, more busy on the weekend, obviously a favorite of locals too.
Never had trouble finding a pool chair or a beach chair. They supplied Massive Fluffy beach towels, and if I had one complaint..it would be the pool chairs... I dislike the ones that are at this resort. They are the hammock style-I find you cannot sit comfortably in them. But that is my only complaint.
The beaches are naturally very clean-no seaweed or debris and the water in April was very warm. Big waves all the time...so was very much enjoyed by our family. Except for the 2 pounds of sand in your pants.. The sea was gorgeous. Not one drop of rain nor one cloud interfered with this vacation.
Literally across the street was a huge market with restaurants, shops, Ice Cream. Also two bank machines very close to the resort one HSBC and one other.
The sidewalks and streets are very clean and easy to walk, with great bike paths in the middle. I wish I had rented a bike.
All in all we highly recommend this resort - Its perfectly situated and the beach was amazing, but mostly I must say the Mexican people are really lovely (Like Canadians) and the staff at this resort went above and beyond to make our vacation very fun and special. I will BE BACK VERY SOON
The main pool area is surrounded by lounge chairs and umbrellas. Pool towels are provided and small water floats are permitted in the pool. Pool volleyball and Ping Pong can also be played at the pool. Lifeguards are on duty during high season.
Walk a few more steps beyond the pool area, and you will find yourself on the white sandy beach. More lounge chairs await under palapas and the ocean waters often see calm days because the hotel is situated in Palmar Bay. Lifeguards are on duty during the high season.
A game room can be found on the first floor near the sundries shop. There are Ping Pong tables, fooseball, video games and billard tables for the kids to enjoy. Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult when visiting the Game Room, but children over 12 are permitted to enjoy the games on their own.
The Chiqui Club is open to children from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily and parents can leave their children with the supervised staff, while they play board games, video games, paint and play.
The all-inclusive rate includes all meals and alcohol for the adults. There are two main restaurants (with rotating schedules), a snack bar and a weekly theme party for guests to enjoy a variety of fare.
Frutas y Flores
This restaurant is the only onsite restaurant that offers air conditioning, as well as outdoor seating. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In the evenings, guests can enjoy the a la carte dinner menu at La Terraza, which is also the outside area of Frutas y Flores during the day.
This beachside restaurant is open for snacks throughout much of the day and serves a delicious dinner while overlooking the ocean. The dinner menu here changes daily.
Theme Night at the Kiosko
The gazebo (called a kiosko in Spanish) situated in the courtyard entrance of the hotel, is the place where the weekly themed dinner nights (usually a Mexican fiesta) take place. Don't miss this fun, family-friendly party!
An open-air sports bar features a large bar and several cocktail tables to enjoy the evening breeze. There are also two large flat-screen televisions situated above the bar, so you won't miss the game or the Mexican wrestling match.
Planning & Tips
All About the Extras
Complimentary Wi-Fi is included in the all-inclusive rate for up to four devices per room.
A sundries shop and boutique is located on the first floor.
A small fitness center, with cardio and weight machines, is available along with spinning classes on specified days. Gym towels are provided and there is a restroom situated near the gym.
A small laundry facility is included in the rate.
The hotel can arrange babysitting services for an additional peso only charge.
The Art of Smart Timing
Winter is the busiest season at this tropical hotel, but truly it is always busy here. Most people (both local and international) are visiting from December through April. The winter months are busiest with travelers from the United States and Canada and the Easter Holy Week is busiest for Mexican travelers.
The Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo Internaitonal Airport is less than 30 minutes away from this hotel.
The hotel is easily walkable and not too expansive that it feels like you've been walking for days to reach the beach. Some guestrooms are situated mere steps away from the sand. There is a local shopping and restaurant area directly across the street and is easy to walk to. But if you plan to venture further outside the resort or to Zihuatanejo, a rental car or taxi would be needed.
For Mom and Dad
Adults can enjoy a massage or facial in the spa treatment room or on the beach, for optium relaxation.
