Everything is nearby at this compact all-inclusive resort located on Mexico’s Pacific coast and 15 minutes away from the local town of Zihuatanejo. Families do not have to walk far to get anywhere within this resort. Most of the guestrooms overlook the pool area and the pool is only steps away from the white sandy beach and ocean. Kids will love hanging at the kids’ club and adults will enjoy the nightlife at the disco. The buffet restaurants offer great options all day and the specialty restaurant is a nice option, as well. This beach resort is ideal for the family who wants everything that an all inclusive resort has to offer without the long walks to get there.

A Holiday to come back to

by Journey27252739807

We stayed at the Park Royal Resort and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. The size of the Resort was perfect for us, not to big there fore you got to know everyone. Food was good. I'm in Mexico and expect their specialties. Resort was centrally located and we could walk to restaurants, town, flea market and more. Would definetly recommend Park Royal Beach Resort Ixtapa if you want more a personal mexican experience.

Cheap but adequate

by jvwarke

Lunch food is really good, otherwise food is mediocre. Beds were not great. Staff is friendly but not much English. Activities didn’t run as planned. Overall it was ok. Plan to go out for dinners. Buffet is nothing impressive.

Family Activities

Pool
The main pool is surrounded by lounge chairs. Pool towels are provided with your room's pool card. There is a swim up bar in the pool and an underwater platform that is a nice spot for kids to stand in the center of the pool. However, there are only a few palapas by the pool for those seeking shade. A new kids-only pool opened recently complete with slides, splash pads and waterfalls. The kiddie pool is situated near the main pool and in front of the Pescador restaurant.

Beach
The white-sand beach and ocean are only steps away from the pool. There are even more lounge chairs and palapas for shade situated on the sand. Showers to rinse the sand off are situated between the pool and beach area.

Kids Club
The Kids' Club, for 5 to 11 year olds, is located not too far away from the pool. Parents are welcome to leave their children with the supervised staff, but parents with younger children are also welcome to visit the kids' club with their children. The kids will love painting, making arts and crafts and playing games and activities by the pool. The kids' club is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 3 to 5 p.m.

Recreation
Ping Pong tables can be found outside by the pool. Pool and beach volleyball is available. Daily games and activities are always happening at the pool area on a rotating schedule. Check the activity board by the pool towel desk to see what is happening each day.

Nightly Entertainment
Live music can be found in the open lobby bar area, which features a bar and several couches and tables to relax in. Bingo, karaoke and other nightly activities for both families and adults can be found each evening, as well.

There are three main restaurants to choose from at this all-inclusive resort. The all-inclusive rate includes unlimited food and drink.

Snack Garden
A snack hut, located near the pool, offers light lunch, tacos and snacks from about noon to 6 p.m.

Pescador
This restaurant situated near the pool offers both a buffet and a la carte menu for lunch and dinner respectively. There is both an open-air and air conditioning option for seating, as well.

The Veranda

The Italian
This semi-formal or resort casual Italian restaurant is situated next door to the Veranda and serves a delicious dinner in an intimate setting. Reservations are required for the select seating times and children over 12 years old are welcome to dine with parents here.
