The Banyan Tree Mayakoba resort is perfect for families who want a luxurious stay coupled with a fantastic location on the Yucatan Peninsula. Accommodations are very spacious and provide modern appliances. Guests can choose from a variety of poolside villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms. Families may want to stay in one of the roomier three-bedroom, three-story townhouses — fitting up to six people. Three gourmet restaurants serve Asian, Mexican and Thai delicacies.
If your family enjoys golf, check out Mayakoba’s beachfront El Camaleon Golf Club — with a course that hosted Mexico’s first PGA tours. Also, Banyan runs an ecological Mangrove Boat Tour, which brings guests closer to the local wildlife. Kids have a special program where they can join in fun activities together on a daily basis. Besides meeting other children, they will be able to play board and video games, watch movies, go on eco tours and do beach activities.

This place is amazing. Great beach area. All rooms are villas. Staff is very attentive. Our family of fie came for Easter. Drive from Cancun airport was short and direct. We would definitely come back again.
This was my second time visiting the resort. While the resort (presentation and location) is at a level of a five star resort, there were holes in the level of service. Don’t get me wrong, the people at the resort are great and their efforts deserve a high level of praise. But I’m a believer that a five star resort/hotel should encompass a flawless experience. Without going into details, my recent stay was not a perfect experience. For the money spent, I would probably go to another resort next time.
