The first night i arrived late. I had a class to attend first thing the next morning, After my shower, I hear water running in the room. The a/c unit started to flood. I turned the a/c off and called the front desk. Housekeeping had to mop up the flood all over the dresser, behind and under the dresser. My apple watch was charging on the dresser that got all wet. They brought up a fan to use. By the time I got to bed it was early AM. Also record heat on these days. It was so uncomfortable to sleep in the box of a room. I got 4 hours of sleep. The fixed it the next day but the a/c never really worked right. It would get super cold and then shut down in the middle of the night and I would wake up in a hot room. Further, someone slipped a valet ticket under my door with my name on it but I did not have a car. I let the front desk know but they never took off the charges and my room was charged for $25 per day for valet services of a car that I did not have. On check out, the front desk person had to adjust it off but then could not get me a copy of the bill. She said she would email it to me but I never got a copy of the final bill. As a single traveller, I did not feel safe venturing out in the evening. There were a lot of homeless. I should be reimbursed for the first night!
I stayed at this property earlier this week during a quick business trip and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a beautiful hip, boutique hotel. Very chic and elegant but so fun. The staff was wonderful. I loved the complimentary coffee, water bottles and pineapple sugar cookies in the lobby. The room itself was tiny but served me well as I was traveling alone. Loved the Keurig in the room (along with more complimentary water bottles). The bed was super comfortable and all the pineapple "touches" were super fun and cute (but not cheesy at all). Great little hotel. I would absolutely stay here again. Well done. The only thing to beware of is the location... right around the corner 1-2 blocks away is not the best part of the city. I Ubered to/from the hotel so everything was fine with me. But I wouldn't have felt comfortable walking around the area (but I saw other people doing it)....but the hotel was beautiful, the staff was wonderful and I felt safe inside. Despite the location, I would absolutely stay here again.
